For the Chicago Match Race Center’s Chicago Cup, held at the end of Chicago’s iconic Navy Pier, I led the design and visual execution for the event experience across both branding and environmental graphics. The event later became a key stepping stone toward bringing the prestigious Louis Vuitton Cup to Chicago.
My role covered every design-related aspect of the event, ensuring a cohesive and professional experience for participants, sponsors, media, and spectators. Responsibilities included:
- Designing large-scale environmental graphics, including an 80-foot event banner
- Creating stage graphics and presentation visuals
- Designing event guides, signage systems, and wayfinding materials
- Producing participant badges and credential systems
- Developing branded visual assets for both physical and promotional use
- Supporting the overall event identity and audience experience design
The project required balancing sports branding, live-event logistics, sponsor visibility, and visitor engagement within a high-profile international sailing environment. The result was a unified event experience that elevated the visibility and professionalism of the Chicago Cup while contributing to Chicago’s positioning as a future host city for world-class sailing competitions such as the Louis Vuitton Cup.
